End of Semester Entry

I think that the biggest take away from this was becoming more comfortable with being able to use technology in the classroom; the practice we got in the classroom with using our laptops and other technology to teach lessons made me more comfortable with being able to carry those skills into my the grade six classroom I was placed in. I used technology A LOT throughout my practicum - I used it by playing games such as jeopardy or introducing concepts through videos, listening to audiobooks, or displaying expectations (rubrics and etc) on the smartboard. I learned that through technology, learning can be made more accessible. As an educator, we can use technology in order to make learning more engaging and as way to deliver content in a different way (i.e. videos for the students who are visual learners, games for review of concepts, or audiobooks for ELL learners, and so on).
One burning "feeling" that this course answered addressed was my confidence in being able to use technology in a classroom. Having worked with technology prior to my practicum contributed greatly to the confidence I had in using technology in my practicum classroom.

I believe that I contributed to the learning of others by just sharing my opinion and thoughts on different apps or different topics. As teachers, we are always learning from our peers and adding to our own perspective; whether that's by listening to someone who we don't necessarily agree with or to someone who we 100% agree with, every comment we hear still contributes to how we build our own perspective (we reflect and then choose what we like and what we don't while we remain respectful of course). This goes the same for what I learned from others, I learned different information about different topics from my peers and this contributed to my overall knowledge of technology and other topics we may have discussed in class.
